Fabrication Manager

Responsible for:  (The main job activities)

  • Ensuring jobs undertaken by the department are accomplished in a professional manner and with emphasis on Safety, quality, environment & cost effective.

  • Review the scope of works, drawings and establish production objectives, standards and production schedules to ensure the timely delivery.

  • Promote, develop and implement measures to achieve cost-effective improvements in operations, increase customer satisfaction and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.

  • Direct and implement new methods, provide technical and business advice and play a key role in formulating delivery schedules and plans.

  • Review the prevailing system, identify the shortfalls and establish / maintain appropriate systems for measuring necessary aspects of workshop management and improvement.

  • Liaises with Project Managers / Commercial department for job planning and  achieve productivity targets. 

  • Control of consumable budget and Capex requirements.

  • Ensuring optimum use of resources, equipment and manpower.

  • Implement and review the department processes for continual improvement.

  • Provide on the job training to the subordinates and succession plan within the department.

  • Implement and monitor OH&S, Environment and Quality Management System.

  • Perform other job related duties as assigned by the section head.

 

Preferred Competencies:

  • Sound knowledge in fabrication and erection of marine offshore steel structures.

  • Experience in Multi Discipline International Production / Construction sites.

  • Previous managerial experience in Project Management.

  • Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize and successfully execute tasks in accordance with business objectives

  • Naval Architecture /  Mechanical or Marine Engineering, preferably experience in a large Drydocks or repair yard with conversion and New Building facilities.
